If There Is Even a Shred of Truth to This...

We received the following emailing this morning.

Yes, it could be rank conspiracy-theorizing. But, it could also be the absolute truth--because it is so plausible-seeming.

The most destructive mechanism governments have comes from their coercive monopoly on a nation's monetary system. They can use--your money--against you, and there has never been a government in human history that resisted misusing this power.

Since Americans have allowed their government to grow to gargantuan proportions over a long period of time, and since Americans have defaulted on the proaction required of a citizenry to remain free, we have a government which has become more cancerous than beneficial.

Be on the alert. Pursue the following. And, remember: we can stop it!

Major Media Cover-up: G-8 Nations Endorse $3 Billion Global Tax; Analyst Cliff Kincaid Warns that U.N. Global Tax Scheme is on Track for September

As predicted by Cliff Kincaid and his public policy group, America’s Survival Inc., a foreign plot to impose global taxes on America came out of the meeting of the Group of Eight most industrialized nations that met in Gleneagles, Scotland, from July 6-8. But the major media have kept the American people in the dark about this ominous development.

In a little-noticed section of the G-8 communiqué issued by the U.S. and other nations at the event, it was agreed that members of the group would study adoption of an international tax on airline travel. “This is exactly what we were warning about,” said Kincaid, a veteran journalist who appears frequently on radio and TV. “But the eventual bill from the global taxes being pursued by France, Germany and the U.N. could amount to trillions of dollars.”

Kincaid’s group, America’s Survival. Inc., has produced a new report that cites documentary evidence that U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and several key U.N. members, including France, are promoting a global tax plan to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars in new foreign aid to bankrupt socialist regimes and international agencies.

The report, “Smoking Gun: Shocking Truth Uncovered About U.N. Taxation Plan,” was released July 4, 2005, and posted at the America’s Survival. Inc. web site, www.usasurvival.org.

Although the U.S. was reported to be opposed to a global tax, the idea surfaces in Annex II of the Gleneagles communiqué, which is titled “Financing Commitments.” It states that “A group of countries above [an apparent reference to Germany, Italy, France and the UK] firmly believe that innovative financing mechanisms can help deliver and bring forward the financing needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals [ i.e. more foreign aid spending]. They will continue to consider the International financing Facility (IFF), a pilot IFF for Immunization and a solidarity contribution on plane tickets to finance development projects, in particular in the health sector, and to finance the IFF. A working group will consider the implementation of these mechanisms.”

A “solidarity contribution on plane tickets” is an international tax on airline travel. And the phrase “innovative financing mechanisms” is code language for more global taxes.

At a meeting of G8 finance ministers preceding the Gleneagles event, U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow was reported by Reuters news agency to have said that “if other countries wanted to go ahead and look at proposals to fund aid via this mechanism the United States was not going to object.” See: http://www.whiteband.org/specialIssues/G8/gcapnews.2005-06-11.2939763071.
At the G-8 summit, France and Germany had led the effort to promote and adopt the “first international solidarity levy on plane tickets to finance the fight against AIDS and big pandemics," as French President Jacques Chirac put it. This idea, which has already been approved by the European Union (EU), is expected to raise $680 million in that region of the world through a special tax on domestic European flights. On a global basis, Chirac has said this “small levy” would bring in at at least $3 billion. See: http://gavi.elca-services.com/resources/WEF_26Jan05_JChiracSpeech.pdf.

Other nations support the international airline tax proposal. On February 6, the governments of Algeria, Brazil, Chile, France, Germany and Spain had issued a “Berlin Declaration” endorsing it. The “Berlin Declaration” had referred to the “Project of a solidarity contribution levied on air tickets for global sustainable development.”

The declaration added that, “The Group proposes to further work on and pursue the project of a solidarity contribution levied on plane tickets, already supported by Brazil, Chile, France and Germany. The objective of this project is to combat hunger and poverty and finance global sustainable development, inter alia health programs including the fight against HIV/AIDS and other pandemics.”

The declaration stated that, “The mechanism would be based on a small solidarity contribution levied on plane tickets issued to passengers departing from participating countries. In doing so, each participating country could determine, according to national priorities and taking into account economic, social and ecological criteria as appropriate, a differentiation between first/business and economy class tickets as well as domestic and international flights. The different capacities of developed and developing countries should be taken into account. The contribution should be set at levels that would minimize impacts on airlines, tourism industry and travelers.”

The declaration stated that the Group would jointly promote its objectives at the U.N. Summit Meeting of September 2005. That is where, Kincaid’s report warns, the U.N. will spring its trap on President Bush by attempting to get his administration to agree to more global taxes to finance more foreign aid.
