10 to 20 more years at most for the USA?
Someone on one of the television news shows glibly dropped a statistical bomb, and it set me to thinking. What I thought is pretty obnoxious.
The statistic, which I am going to assume to be true for this discussion, is that HALF of the current US population are children. Many of these come from illegal immigrants, birthing under the 14th amendment to the Constitution, making their litters into American citizens.
Little, if any, acculturation is directed to these kids. Assimilation seems be forbidden almost by executive order these days. These kids are growing up as weeds, not as Americans.
Add to that the kids of the indigenous population. How are these kids growing up? Mostly in the public school system, which is turning these kids into chips off the old late 1960s block. These kids are also growing up as weeds, not as Americans.
In 10 to 20 years, these kids will be voters. It won't require that 100% of these kids vote to effect drastic change in American society. Those who will be voting will, in vast numbers, have the default mentality of socialists.
Politicians and bureaucrats, the judges and SCOTUS, the fawning MSM and academicians love socialism, regardless of it having a 100% failure and disaster rate world-wide--for two centuries. All are willing to ignore laws and principles, and disregard the Constitution itself, in the interest of their self-aggrandizement and achieving their unshakable socialist utopia.
See what I mean about this being a pretty obnoxious thought?
How are we going to prevent it and save our country?

George Mason - Mexico used to complain, "Poor Mexico, so far from God, so close to the United States." The situation is now reversed as Mexico is exporting its "hell" to us in the form misery and poverty that nightly hops the Rio Grande.
Decades ago the elite hit upon an elegantly simple plan: the U.S. needs "cheap labor," let them have it ... and all the rest that goes along with it.
Ironically the northern part of Mexico is achieving parity with the United States, and at this rate could someday surpass us as we now have to contend with the burden with which are now saddled, leaving them free to develop their natural resources for the growing middle and elite classes while our slip away supporting their "huddled masses." After all, isn't that the invitation chiseled on the Statue of Liberty?

Eleanor,
I put the blame squarely on the USA, not Mexico. We set in motion in 1965, thanks in considerable part to Sen. E. Kennedy, a fatal immigration policy. We have made it worse over the decades, and it could prove fatal.
The Left, and now the latter day Mexicans, played and play America like a Wurlitzer, hitting all the "huddled masses" buttons and the like. They have been as effective, if not more so, than the Muslims, using the same methods.
I invite you to read the blog I put up this evening about the Senate's so-called "immigration reform' bill and what it would mean if passed. Put that together with the gathering "weeds" growing up now, and ... Well, it is just too overwhelming to think about right now.

We are accustomed to hearing "Death to America" (by comparison, the old "Yankee go home" sounds positively neighborly) from the Muslims, but it looks as if the U.N. may be the world's best hope for the destruction of the United States.
Here's the plan: [The UN's] bureaucrats envision a borderless world where immigration is trreated as an international human rights issue and used as a global development tool to encourage free movement of the developing countries poor to the developed nations. This. . .underlies...the "United Nations High Level Dialogue" . . . scheduled to take place. . .in the fall [of 2006 when the General Assembly meets]."
UNESCO has a report, "Migration without Borders" that has the poor, uneducated people leave their impoverished countries (made impoverished because of their failed social policies) to go to prosperous countries which they enter without permission. Once there, these poor become the economic charges of the host countries, and when the poor find employment, they are to send "remittances" back to their families in the countries of origin. This is seen by the U.N. as an indirect form of aid generated by the host countries.
On the other hand, if skilled, well educated people from poor countries come to (say) the U.S., the U.N. plan has us give financial "compensation" to the country of origin.
If that doesn't sound like what's going on between the U.S. and Mexico, I don't know what does. Add to Bush's abject refusal to secure our borders and Papa Bush's mention of the "New World Order" over 200 times during his administration, and I come to the inescapable conclusion that the U.S.-Mexico fiasco is the vanguard of a much large plan to fully integrate North and South America socially, politically, economically, and philosophically.
Our problem with the border is nothing more than a toe in the water for Bush and his U.N. buddies to see if we, the American people, have been made submissive and compliant enough by our educational system to go along with the destruction of our country.

So much for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Cubed - Obviously we haven't been made compliant as we making our voices heaard.
International studies programs in the public schools and universities have been created to inspire "world citizenship", de-emphasizing any patriotic or "nationalistic" feeling as xenophobia, racism, and islamophobia.
The mindset of present school children is being radically altered and, eventually, we will presented in the same light as were our 19th century forefathers: racists, slavers, bigots, and so on, rather than putting them and us in the context of time and space in which we all exist: we will be, oops, are being trashed as were our forefathers were when we attended school.
Could it be that a youth corpse could be organized in the United States to stamp out polticially incorrect thought? Think of the Red Guard, the Hitler Youth, Castro's Young Pioneers, the indoctrinated Muslim youth in Palestine, and so on. Such a movement would the logical next step.
