Islamic Tsunami: Cashing In
ZIYAAD: Important Lessons From The South Asian Tsunami, Jan 01, 2005, JihadUnspun, Dr Abu Ziyaad, Jordon.
I have always found the hell-and-damnation preachers of the sunny South particularly annoying. They were not believable, and they were strictly johnny-one-notes who turned everything into reason to fear God and get righteous. However, Islamicists make these protestant Christian propagandists look like Oracles of Delphi.
The Great Asian Tsunami was less than a week old before some Islamic nitwit had to try to cash in on the misery. This flagrantly propagandistic polemic by Dr. Abu Ziyaad, while meaningless as a motivator for people of education and self-esteem, exposes the sense-of-life, methodology, and undeviating purpose of those whose minds have been Islamized. Its concern is only marginal for the human meaning of such a mass tragedy.
I will select and comment on a few sections, but the article is worth reading--if for no other purpose than understanding the minds and thinking of Islamists better.
After opening with a reminder that Allah sent the earthquake and tsunami, Ziyaad parts company with facts and any semblance of human compassion in the third paragraph to get right to sticking it to Muslims.
Wasting little time, he gets right into the malevolent universe of Islam: pain, suffering, tragedy, metaphysical fear. He reminds Muslims that Allah not only did this, but they had better get back to being obedient Islamic robots--Allah has spake, after all.
Aside from wallowing in the glory of his Allah who inflicted this misery on South Asia, Ziyaad now does what Muslims do so well, thanks to Islam: He affixes blame on others. The governments hit the hardest, he claims, are those who consort with the Great Satan, namely the USA, of course. He says, for example, that Thailand got tragedy big time because it is helping us, "...the Christian Crusaders in the war on terror (Islam)..." Ponder that phrase: "Christian Crusaders" and "war on terror (Islam)." Those poor, picked upon, and misunderstood jihadists who are blamed for the terror behavior...
According to Ziyaad, perfidy against innocent Islam is everywhere in the region. Take Java, for example: "...in central Java, the President called terrorism (Islam) the enemy of all religions (the man-made false religions such as Christianity Judaism and Hinduism as well as the religion of Secularism and Democracy) and urged religious leaders to fight it."
You will just love his "in conclusion":
And, just as he opened his article stirring up metaphysical fear in Muslims, so he closes the same way, citing the benevolence of Allah:
Now, you must admit, Islam is, after all, a hell of a lot of fun! Is it not?

The South Asian earthquake turned security into fear, richness into poverty, caused joined families to depart, and turned life into death. Without doubt, in it is a lesson for those who take lessons and a reminder for those who remember, so that they may return to their Lord and their Creator.
Wasting little time, he gets right into the malevolent universe of Islam: pain, suffering, tragedy, metaphysical fear. He reminds Muslims that Allah not only did this, but they had better get back to being obedient Islamic robots--Allah has spake, after all.
The Prophet (saws) has informed us that a multitude of earthquakes is a sign of the proximity of the Hour (the day of judgment). He informed us that they would be many at the end of the time. Ahmad relates in a hadeeth (prophetic tradition) narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Prophet (saws) said: "The Hour will not happen until knowledge is taken out, time passes quickly, earthquakes increase in number, tribulations (fitan) appear, and al-Harj increases in number." It was said, "What is al-Harj, O Rasoolullah?" He said, "Al Qatl, al Qatl (Killing)." And in other narrations the appearance of injustice and oppression in society is associated with divine punishments such as earthquakes, locusts and floods.

In conclusion then, the earthquake of South Asia is a warning from Allaah (swt), not only to the people of that region, but rather to the whole of humanity, and to the Muslims in particular, that they may return back to their Lord and their Deen. Many of the Muslims today have gathered many sins, some of those sins are so great (kabaa'ir), that it has taken them outside the fold of Islam, while others are on the verge of the Kufr. We see those who delay and neglect prayers, eat haram foods e.g. food that is stunned before being slaughtered, deal with riba (interest), do not fulfill their trusts (covenants), order the evil (munkar) and forbid the good (ma'roof), rule by Kufr laws, uphold and make excuses for the apostate rulers and their governments in the Muslim lands, associate partners with Allaah in his names, attributes and functions, indulge in free mixing, display their awrah, listen to music and songs, smoke and have abandoned the Qur'aan and the Sunnah. All these exist in our society.
And, just as he opened his article stirring up metaphysical fear in Muslims, so he closes the same way, citing the benevolence of Allah:
"Let us pause and ask ourselves what has been the tangible impact on us since we have heard and seen this earthquake. The happy one is one who learns from the calamity of others, and the sad one is by whom these calamities pass while he takes no lesson from them. It is unfortunate that the explanation offered for these events is that they are normal natural disasters, and that they do not link it to what happens to people due to their wrongdoing, both as a nation (collectively) and as individuals. Theirs is clearly an incorrect interpretation.
And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction)."
Now, you must admit, Islam is, after all, a hell of a lot of fun! Is it not?
