It Appears that Free Speech Is On the Way Out in the “Free World”
If Muslims have their way, no one in the world will have the right to free speech. Muslims believe that the appropriate speech is that which furthers he aims of Islam and that criticism is a crime, rather than an annoyance, punishable by law. Apparently they have convinced some in Western countries to pass “hate-speech laws” as in Britain and Canada. Australia passed a new “religious vilification law” that allows the prosecution of anyone that attempts to “essentially tell the truth about Islam.”
Canadian and U.K. pastors, journalists, and writers have been muzzled out of fear of prosecution for not only offering opinion, but by using the Koranic texts and other references to the life of Mohammad and Muslims in general.
The movement is beginning to catch hold in the United States. Among recent events, a San Diego townhall was convened to discuss how to protect Muslims from Islamophobia, a catch-all phrase coined to tar any critic or questioner with the brush of fear monger, racist, or religious bigot.
Europeans have wrestled with this problem for years. Those countries that haven’t done so already are planning to institute some type of regulation to muzzle criticism against Islam and Muslims in the hope of preventing violence against their citizens and averting war.
The Canadian and American branches of CAIR have contacted various bureaucracies in order to deflect and mitigate the effects of criticism that ordinary Canadians and Americans have. “Sensitivity training” for police and F.B.I. has take place, as well as for public-school personnel. Presently it is against policy to have “wrong thoughts” about Muslims and critical speech or even questions are not welcome and will result in censure by employers and bureaucracies.
This dangerous trend is coming about because few take the time to see generalization, the pattern. Instead they focus on local events and politics.
World patterns show that freedom of speech eventually disappears where there are Muslims. History also backs up this assertion, as the claim of Muslim tolerance in ancient times is a myth.
Take a step back and look at the big picture. There is no free speech anywhere in the Muslim world. Europe that is rapidly Islamizing has lost its tongue and critics are losing status, treasure, and even their lives, as we have seen with the firing of journalists, prison guards, and the like in Britain, and the death of Theo Van Gogh in the Netherlands, to cite a few examples.
Americans must take note of this trend and not be fooled into believing that it won’t happen here because it is happening now in small increments. Think of our rights as a big block of stone. With every hammer blow we are losing our rights “one chip at a time,” all in the name of multiculturalism and so that we can accommodate the needs of a tiny minority of less than one percent of the total population. This is stupidity and insanity at work.
