Common Sense Conspiracy Theories
With the terrorist rampage in London, the news has focused once again on just when and by what means the U.S. will be hit again.
Some of our politicians (who apparently don't read very much) have said that the reason we haven't been hit since 9/11 is because our security has improved so much. The people who say things like that have so little connection with reality that I won't even bother to comment on that.
When I saw the FOXNews.com interview a few days ago, on July 8, with counterterrorism expert Juval Aviv, he ventured that another attack on America was more or less imminent. He said he thought something of some sort would happen within ninety days of the inverview, putting it no later than around October. He suggested that it might involve six to eight cities simultaneously AND that it wouldn't be limited to big cities; rural America may be hit as well, to send the message that no place is safe.
Which brought to mind a July 12 interview by George Noory, host of nighttime radio talk show "Coast to Coast a.m." with Paul L. Williams, author of upcoming book "Al-Qaeda Connection." According to Williams, military, academic, press, and intelligence sources have all concurred that bin Laden has nuclear weapons and that a plan for an attack on America by al-Qaeda is "well underway," and could involve as many as 20 nuclear devices in as many locations. He says that bin Laden's rationale for an attack has been spelled out in his "letter to America."
Williams believes that the small percentage of freight that is checked on ships and planes is a problem, but the porous borders are the primary reason we are under such a threat. Mexican gangs, especially the MS-13 gang, has helped smuggle weapons into the U.S.
All of the above reminded me of an interview I heard on the radio one night when I was having trouble sleeping. It was toward the end of March in 2004, and I woke up to hear it after all the identifying information had been given, so I don't know the station or the program. But I did catch the name and website of the guest: David Hawkins, at http://www.davidhawkinsresearch.com . He identified himself as a forensic economist who specialized in following "paper trails" to ferret out corruption and other problems.
He had been working on the U.N. "oil for food" scandal some months before the interview when he saw enough information to connect the dots in the following manner: Saddam's oil money was used (in part) to pay off U.N. personnel so that after the trucks used by the U.N. to transport food and medicine had been emptied, they were filled with WMDs and transported to Syria. From there, many were loaded onto ships bound for Canada, and loaded onto trucks whose drivers were issued so-called "controlled goods certificates." These, Hawkins said, allowed the trucks to go pretty much anywhere they wanted. Eventually, the WMDs crossed into the United States over the porous border with Canada. They were distributed around the country, where they await further use.
Well, all this may sound a bit like a conspiracy theory of the first order, but it makes a whole lot more sense that the idiots who say that our great security is what has prevented us from attacks since 9/11.
The reason we have not been attacked since 9/11 is because it hasn't suited the sand savages yet.
