"U.S. Marines Build Shrine to Islam" --- Saudi Style!
For years we have been reading how Islam has penetrated the U.S., infiltrating the government and other institutions at the highest level. Saudi Arabia, flush with petro-dollars, has bought its way in. Saudi influence is particularly more dangerous because of the hate-filled brand of Islam that it espouses. Incredibly a Saudi-inspirted shrine has been dedicated for Marines at Quantico "so Muslim service members can have a 'proper place' to worship, and one that 'honors their religious heritage' ".
It's incredible to learn that duped Quantico and Pentagon officials remain oblivious to the dangerous a possible Saudi-inspirted fifth column right there within the Pentagon, within the FBI and the CIA, right there at the pinnacle of power.
Apparently a graduate of a hardline Wahhabi school in Virginia, Navy Lt. Abuhena Mohammed Saifulislam, better known as Saifu, has smoothed the way by claiming to be "moderate".
Born in Bangladesh, he insists that he is "only a Sunni Muslim and does not adhere to the faith's more orthodox and militant Wahhabi sect practiced by Osama bin Laden and his ilk [but shouldn't] his pro-jihadic background...raise flags at the Pentagon"? Apparently not.
According to an article by Paul Sperry at FrontPage, Saifa has done a lot for the Wahabbism besides building them a chapel:
• convinced the military to provided halal meals (at three times the cost) - "The Gitmo menu now boasts 113 Muslim-appropriate meals for the benefit of finicky terrorist tummies."
• Gitmo detainees "now wake to the sound of Muslim chaplains calling them to prayer instead f barking dogs or guards, who are now trained in Muslim sensitivity."
• Gitmo detainees "can brush up on jihad by reading paperback Pentagon-issued copies of the Koran" and "finger prayer beads and wear makeshift turbans and skull caps"
One wonders how they can be turned from the path of jihad as they are allowed to a wallow in it even while imprisoned at Gitmo!
Our Navy lieutenant also ministered to Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, "a fellow Muslim charged with desertion, just before he went AWOL again last year. Hassoun deserted his post in Iraq where he served as an Arabic translator. After he was captured, and after he met with the Quantico imam, he deserted again." The lieutenant obviously had little effect on the Marine...or did he?
The U.S. military has long used simulations to provide troops realistic training. Simulations in cultural and religious sensitivity gives troops valuable insight into the mentality of the enemy and populations among which they will be operating. However, the creation of the Wahhabist chapel at Quantico smacks of deception as setting out signs to pull in interested or curious personnel is Da'wa, or calling to Islam. And how does Sperry put it?
Let's hope that someone at the Pentagon is keeping tabs on Saifulislam that they take note of which Service Members are corrupted by his program.

Instead, it's giving him [Saifulisam] a permanent taxpayer-supported platform from which to convert grunts to Islam. With the Quantico mosque, the Pentagon is facilitating the study of the holy texts the enemy uses, heretically or not, as their manual of war. This is tantamount to the Marines setting up a Mein Kampf reading room during WWII.
Let's hope that someone at the Pentagon is keeping tabs on Saifulislam that they take note of which Service Members are corrupted by his program.

It is very disheartening to read about this foolishness. Political correctness and multiculturalism are going to get us all killed.

The contents of this article make me madder than than that Boston Globe newsette reported today on Jihad Watch. This newsette has declared jihad on us "islamophobes," and Reason Magazine published this tripe. At least the Libertarians are being consistent.
The military are followers, and they are following official attitudes and policies. Note and take hope that a few officers would not attend the "consecration" of the "shrine." Theirs was the proper moral stand, but the rest would not stand up. They followed their "leaders."
The problem here is the same as the problem with the Boston Globist: the failure to grasp that Islam is an integrated body of ideas far transcending any religious importance. Another name for that "body of ideas" is "philosophy." The danger to us comes from the PHILOSOPHY OF ISLAM, and much less from the religion. That is not to say that the religious zealotry spawned by Islam is not exceedingly dangerous to civilized men and women.
In skulls full of mush, distinctions are not made between religion and philosophy, and the role each plays. More mush whitewashes Islam-as-a-religion because it is a religion, and too many in high and powerful positions think that all religions are good. Their whitewashing covers over the importance of Islam as a body of ideas. These fools can see just what they want to see and no more, thus they try to "make nice" with another guy's religion. That was the Boston Globist's blind spot.
The severe danger to us comes from all this whitewashing. Just as policy wonks have the Marines building shrines to their Islamic destroyers (and that means ALL of Islam), others build military reading lists for officers deploying to Iraq, using the pabulum and lies of Karen Armstrong, etc.
The military was designed, as the cliche' goes, to kill people and break things. They are very susceptible--for a while--to what John correctly identifies as political correctness and multiculturalism. It is up to us to rid our government and culture of these Kool-aids so that our military can follow the proper ideas.

George - Right on: "Islam is an integrated body of ideas for transcending any religious important. Another name for that 'body of ideas' is 'philosophy.' " ... Exactly, perfect and to the point.
The prevailing "all religions are good" philosophy is bringing us down. I recently came across an entry that tied Bush's Faith-Based Initiative grant program to a push by Islamists to get mosques and ordinary Muslims to apply as "they had no idea the program existed." Thus, we are funding our own demise.

To top it all off, there is already a mosque in nearby Springfield, just a few minutes up the road from Quantico.

Before I saw your take here, I posted a bit about this at Northern Virginiastan.
