The Geology of Chaos
Human nature is behind the riots that are occurring throughout Europe. The erroneous belief that education, socialization, and the ideal of "understanding can create goodwill towards all men," can overcome the behaviors that programmed in our genes. Human beings will always be at odds with each other even within groups that are homogenous. Add to the mix thoughts conjured up by race, religion, culture, and the "foreignness " of immigrants, explosive situations are inevitable.
John Derbyshire see the current problems in France and Europe as a series of layers that are contributing to social disorder.
Europe is filled with immigrants from many places. Mr. Derbyshire doesn't explain why only Muslim "youths" are rioting. Although religion is one of his layers, he seems clueless about Islam. For the readers at this site know that Islam is not a religion like all the others. In fact, Islam is not just a religion: it's an entire social system rolled up in one ideology. Islam is a system that regulates every thought, word, and deed, and has an answer and a prescription for every eventuality.
He forgets to mention Muslim apartheid system. Not the self-segregation of Muslims when found living in a larger non-Muslim population. Muslim apartheid that is imposed upon non-Muslims living within a larger population or one in which Muslims have gained control or great influence.
As did the Nazis, Muslims suppress minorities by making them live in ghettoes, or wearing identifying markers, or following other rules that make them be apart and yet serve the interest of the larger group.
Because of great numbers, or demographics, Muslims in France are rioting because they can. They are attempting to force the French government to recognize that they are not in charge sections all over France. Moreover, Muslims are instructing the French that they are now creating a state within a state in the form of the millet system of the Ottoman Empire.
This is classical Islam is action. Although many Muslims were "reverted" through the persuasion of reason, most were "persuaded" through intimidation and force.
Islam has a plan for the world they are confident that Europe mostly will be divided into Muslim kingdoms by 2015, and that total world Islamification will occur in 100 years. The fall of France is only the beginning.

"All we demand is to be left alone," said Mouloud Dahmani, one of the local "emirs" engaged in negotiations to persuade the French to withdraw the police and allow a committee of sheiks, mostly from the Muslim Brotherhood, to negotiate an end to the hostilities.
